The Swiss Advanced Manufacturing Community Events (SAMCE) are especially made for junior scientists, such as graduates, doctoral students and postdocs, as well as other academic staff active in advanced manufacturing in Switzerland. We also welcome senior master students who want to present their research activities and projects in advanced manufacturing that are related to their master theses.

We are looking for active participants who strive for scientific exchange and who are prepared to share and discuss ideas, to support and to work with colleagues across disciplines and institutions. We are looking for contributions for the following 12 session topics referring either to production technologies or to cross-technology topics:

The conference dinner is free of charge for those who have registered for it (see registration form). It takes place at DISPO. The event location is in walking distance to SIPBB and the train station Biel.
The number of participants at the conference dinner is limited. If you are registered and no longer wish to attend, please cancel by contacting the organizers. Then participants on the waiting list can move up (and potential food waste can be avoided).
Registration opens in spring.
The participation in SAMCE 2025 is free of charge, but the number of participants is limited. Priority is given to participants who submit a contribution.
The following deadlines apply:
  • September 1 - Abstract submission (please use the abstract template)
  • October 6 - Registration without a contribution
PITCH & POSTER
For SAMCE 2025 we are looking for active participants that pitch their research ideas and challenges. You can give two kinds of talks:
Picture
CONNECT
Researchers shortly present a challenge they are currently facing, in hopes of receiving fresh perspectives or finding new partners to help address it. (recommended for early stage researchers).
Picture
IGNITE
Researchers present in short pitches a cutting-edge technology or exciting research results they believe could benefit other scientists.
Each talk lasts 3 minutes. Every session is followed by an EXCHANGE module (30 minutes) where speakers can discuss their pitches with other participants. Speakers are invited to bring posters (optional) to facilitate the discussion during the EXCHANGE module. The different program modules are described in more detail on this page.

For your information: A SAMCE pitch is fast-paced and follows the Pecha Kucha format with auto-advancing slides. Please take a look at the presentation file templates below. They will help you understand what is expected of you when delivering a CONNECT or IGNITE talk.
