Launch Event 2021

Online event on 21 January 2021 from 15h00 to 17h10 (Registration is closed)

The SAMCE launch event 2021 will be organized as online event. It will give you insight in what is going on in the Swiss scientific community in advanced manufacturing. Furthermore, the event will give you the possibility to interact and to discuss with colleagues from other disciplines and Swiss research institutions. We want to connect you to people who have common interests and who may be facing similar challenges as you. As each SAMCE, the launch event shall be a starting point for scientific exchange and future collaborations in the domain of advanced manufacturing in Switzerland.
Target group
The Swiss Advanced Manufacturing Community Events (SAMCE) are especially made for junior scientists, such as doctoral students and postdocs, as well as other academic staff active in advanced manufacturing in Switzerland. We also welcome senior master students who want to present the research activities and projects in advanced manufacturing that are related to their master theses.

We are looking for active participants who strive for scientific exchange and who are prepared to share and discuss ideas, to support and to work with colleagues across disciplines and institutions. Hence, we are looking for participants who become an active part of the event program and of the scientific community in advanced manufacturing in Switzerland.

The participation in the SAMCE launch event in January 2021 is free of charge.

Event modules
The SAMCE launch event will offer you a number of different modules providing you with inspiring input as well as with possibilities to interact with speakers and other participants.
Picture
Inspire
A visionary keynote speaker shows you the bigger picture and asks what if. She inspires you to think and act outside the patterns you know already.
Picture
Ignite
Six selected junior scientists present in short pitches how they cross borders and enter unknown territory to develop new cutting-edge technologies.
Picture
Discuss
Moderated by young professors and experienced scientists, you discuss in small groups the key success factors of technological breakthroughs.
Picture
Connect
Six scientists present you a challenge they are currently facing in their research. You can contact them to learn more, to exchange ideas and to support.
Picture
Meet
We divide the participants four times randomly into groups of four. This gives you the opportunity to meet 12 scientists and expand your network.
Beyond these event modules, we will use collaborative software tools to enable you to actively participate in the event and to interact with speakers, moderators and other participants, e.g. to visualize the results of the discussions in the parallel breakout rooms or to let you vote on who gave the best Ignite talk.
